Tokyo's Glowing Lantern Garden

🍰 Night light-up · Shinjuku Gyoen · Tokyo
A 200-metre tunnel of golden plane trees, glowing in the dark — and everyone walking through it carries a little lantern.
This is NAKED Autumn Leaves of Shinjuku Gyoen, a night light-up in the former imperial garden in the middle of Tokyo. You borrow a Distance Lantern at the entrance, it paints glowing maple, ginkgo and plane-tree leaves on the path, and every visitor becomes part of the art.
Eleven frames from that walk, between 19:12 and 19:23 on 2 December 2023. The light keeps moving, so nothing stands still — the blur is part of it.
