I recently saw a post saying OpenAI's ChatGPT is much better than Claude because it has more built-in features. I get why that sounds appealing, but I see them as two very different tools. For my workflow, Claude is the clear winner.
Models like ChatGPT and Gemini handle many tasks well. They can create images, music, and work with different types of media right away. At first glance, Claude seems simpler and mainly focuses on text, logic, and programming.
But an AI agent's real strength isn't how many built-in features it has. What matters most is its core intelligence and how well it can coordinate tasks.
When I run Claude locally—whether through tools like Claude Code in the terminal or via the desktop app—it becomes an unmatched orchestrator. With the right configurations and templates, it can autonomously coordinate a whole suite of tools.
It doesn't need native video or image generation because it is smart enough to act as the brain. I can have it seamlessly trigger LTX to generate videos, or hook into external APIs for custom voice and image generation. Claude dynamically manages these tasks, calling the right API at the right time.
Even though it lacks native multimedia generation, its ability to intelligently route tasks and orchestrate external tools makes it incredibly powerful. Ultimately, having an AI smart enough to seamlessly control and integrate with your custom toolkit is far more valuable than being locked into an all-in-one ecosystem.
