Balance Scales ⚖️

The equals sign is a see-saw: it sits level only when both sides hold the same amount. Weigh each sentence — true or false?

Every case asks the same detective question: do both sides hold the same amount? Encourage checking both sides before answering, and listen for "the same amount as" when the sentence is read aloud. Watch for the chain-of-answers trap (5 + 3 = 8 + 1 = 9) — a number sentence is one statement about two equal sides, not a running total. The beam stays level for true sentences and tips toward the heavier side for false ones. Best streaks are saved on this device only.
