How to play Summit Quiz

  1. Read the question and pick A, B, C or D.
  2. The right answer turns green; a wrong pick turns red and the working explains why.
  3. Questions climb from warm-up (1–3) through explorer (4–8) to challenge (9–10).
  4. At the end, the summit screen lists any questions to revisit, with a link back to the lessons.

What the quiz checks

The ten questions cover the whole Year 4 place value unit: the value of a digit in a decimal (47.25), building a number from tens, ones and tenths (34.6), the decimal halfway between two others, multiplying by 100 with whole numbers and decimals, which lists contain only even numbers, the odd + odd rule, bridging to 200, choosing an efficient division strategy, and comparing decimals such as 0.9 and 0.15.

For grown-ups

These are the ten practice questions from the Unit 8 book: warm-up (questions 1–3), explorer (4–8) and challenge (9–10). Each wrong option is a common slip: putting the 7 in 47.25 in the wrong house, sliding only once for × 100, thinking a longer decimal is bigger (0.15 vs 0.9), or choosing a slow strategy. The working is shown after every answer, and the end screen lists any questions to revisit. Stars: 3 for 9–10, 2 for 7–8, 1 for 5–6.
